Oscar Picks 2009
It’s that time of year again when I select my Oscar picks. I know, I know. Please. Please! Stop gasping and cheering.
Actually it is a bit of a tradition between my sister and me. We pick and see who is right, the film studies major or the theoretical chemist. Sure, she usually wins but that’s only because she sees all the movies and doesn’t get all sentimental about films she likes like I do.
Now then…to the picks!

Best Actress: Kate Winslet in “The Reader”
Best Supporting Actor: Heath Ledger in “The Dark Knight”
Best Supporting Actress: Penélope Cruz in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”
Best Animated Picture: “WALL-E”
Best Cinematography: “Slumdog Millionaire”
Adapted Screenplay: “Doubt”
Original Screenplay: “In Bruges”
Best Foreign Language Film: “The Class”, France
Best Documentary: “Man on Wire”
